This morning I planned my work for the day but my head was pounding. I allowed myself some time to relax but every time I got back to my laptop, my head got worse.
It was impossible to concentrate. My head was full of energy. I was ungrounded.
You might experience this as having too many thoughts, focussing on the past/future, forgetting things, feeling lethargic or experiencing a “negative” emotion.
In the past I would have popped a painkiller, pushed through and kept working, but that would have made for a very unproductive day!
Instead I took myself OUTSIDE! I got my bare feet on the grass and I grounded myself.
It felt so good! Instantly I felt the pressure in my head melt and a sense of the stress draining into the soil.
I started breathing more deeply. I felt more present with my surroundings. It was such a relief from how I’d been feeling 10 minutes earlier.
If you’ve never tried grounding, give it a go.
Get out into your garden or a park with your bare feet on the grass. If you want to super-charge yourself, breathe deeply and slowly for a few minutes. With every breath in, imagine supportive energy coming up from the earth and with every breath out, imagine negative thoughts or feelings going down into the ground.
I’d love to hear from you if this has been useful.
Have a great and grounded week!
